Silent retreats and days of reflection are offered through the Sacred Heart Retreat House with the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart. These retreats are for men, women and married couples. There are also days of reflection; youth groups (Petrus) and spiritual talks, usually on Tuesday evenings.  This ministry is helping to bring people back to our faith and find a little piece of heaven on earth by allowing them to take a step away from their busy lives and spend time with our Lord.


While the church has an unchanged commitment to the permanence of marriage, many Catholics have erroneous ideas about Church teaching regarding annulments. Caring Presence provides short-term (less than 4 hours) respite care to seniors or the disabled in order to provide companionship for the care recipient and relief for the family. 


This ministry creates awareness of the Filipino culture, the Catholic faith and promotes family values in serving the Filipino community of our Church through integration without distinction.  This ministry sponsors a choir that sings regularly, bilingual Tagalog classes, faith formation classes, a medical mission to meet the needs of the less fortunate in the Philippines and a Filipino newsletter within the parish.


 


The members of this ministry donate their unique gifts and skills to helping the parish with building maintenance and repairs.


This ministry provides support to those who are dealing with a death of a loved one. The bereavement ministers can help plan the funeral liturgy, offer a listening ear and can provide comfort to those grieving the loss of a close friend or family member.


Holistic Health is becoming central to parish ministry in today’s Church. Our task is to educate parishioners about the role spirituality, prayer and a faith community adds to good health. It is looking at the body-mind-spirit connection to healthy living.

This is an educational ministry to promote the social justice needs of those who come to this country in search of refuge, safety and/or a better life for themselves and their families.


This ministry collects and organizes donated reading materials, books, videos and religious articles as resources for the parishioners, and directs them to specific materials of interest.  The library is open most Sundays in the dining room area of the hall.


Mary’s Table is a soup kitchen run under Mary’s Mercy Center, located in San Bernardino. Our groups are responsible for feeding the hungry and homeless on the last two Sunday’s of each month. The last Sunday is open to all, but is geared for teens with their parent or sponsor. All volunteers must call and be put on the monthly list before arriving. Our responsibilities are to clean, prepare and serve the food to all of our guests who come to be nourished. We begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and we are typically done by 2:00 p.m.  Our focus is to “find the face of Jesus” in all who come to be fed.


NFP is taught as a safe, effective method of avoiding or achieving pregnancy within the Christian (not just Catholic) teachings on birth regulation.  A series of four classes is taught in the Sympto-Thermal Method (developed at the University of Minnesota Medical School) and scheduled throughout the year. Instructors are certified locally by the Phoenix Diocese and internationally by the Couple to Couple League.


A proactive and pro-life ministry, this group promotes and affirms the dignity of all human persons.  Programs include: Special commemoration events, educational presentations, intercessory prayer, e-mail tree, advocacy and referrals to pregnancy counseling centers.


This group invites all who are interested to join them in making rosaries for the poor, special events and gifts.


Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist provide the sick or homebound with prayer and Eucharist services. Training and guidance for this ministry is provided.  Contact the parish office for training or for home and hospital visits.


Our Memorial Garden is tended by this society.  They are entrusted with its care and upkeep so as to be a place of reflection and beauty.


Newly registered parishioner families are invited to a dinner reception at the parish and welcomed into the St. Peter and St. Paul parish family.  They are introduced to and informed about the various ministries offered in our parish, as well as invited to get involved in at least one of them.
