Matrimony

…”God himself is the author of marriage.”  “The vocation to marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1603).

Preparation for Matrimony is an important program of the parish community. The Pastor and Deacons and those who assist in this preparation wish to create an environment for weddings that will reflect the Catholic Christian traditions of the Faith. Further, the Diocese of San Bernardino requires at least a six-month period of preparation for marriage. The period commences from the time of the first appointment with a priest, deacon or coordinator of matrimonial services of the parish. No wedding date can be set until the initial meeting has taken place. During the preparation, a Foccus Inventory (Assessment) is administered to the couple, after which, they meet with a Team Couple trained in the ‘For Better & For Ever’ (Ruhnke program) for six evenings. Upon completion of the evening sessions, the couple is invited to complete the marriage preparation with a meeting with the priest and to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Couples who wish to begin the process in the Sacrament of Matrimony may contact Aileen Gamalinda.
