Dolores and Herman Trujillo have been parishioners here at St. Peter & St. Paul for 13 years, and are the parents of six children, the grandparents of 14, and great-grandparents of five.  Last month, after more than 40 years of marriage, Herman was called to his eternal reward and joins us this morning from his new home in the company of the saints of heaven.  Ever since their move here from Huntington Beach, St. Peter & St. Paul Parish has been a focal part of the Trujillos’ lives.  For 12 years, Herman served as one of our Eucharistic Ministers, volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and was active in the Holiday Food Drive for the needy.  His other community service activities included making trips to Mexico with clothing for the poor, transporting commodities for Mary’s Table, and also helping for eight years at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center.  For 10 years, Dolores has worked as a reliable Monday morning volunteer in our church office, has served for 12 years as a Eucharistic Minister here, and another 8 years with our Home Ministry.  Her community service projects outside the parish have included ten years as a hospital volunteer at the Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center in Hawthorne, California, and giving of her time and energy for 7 years at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center.   This is truly a couple who has given life to Albert Einstein’s words:  “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”
