Think of our Spanish Language ministries here at St. Peter and St. Paul, and you think of Alberto and Debbie Muñoz.   Married for the past eleven years, they have a combined family of seven children, all of whom they say are now adults, well established, and living independently.   As well as being one of our Eucharistic Ministers, Alberto is currently in charge of our Spanish language Bible Study program and is involved with our Spanish language Masters of Ceremonies group.   Albertos’s wife Debbie calls herself a “non-official usher at Masses,”  telling us that she welcomes people, helps to distribute worship aids, and, of course, cleans up after Mass has ended.   Along with Alberto, Debbie is also involved with the Spanish language Bible Study program.  She helps Alberto by keeping in contact with students, encouraging them to learn the Word of God, and answering some of the many questions they pose.  Alberto and Debbie are a real team in every sense of the word and are models of Christian family life.  Debbie’s wishes for St. Peter and St. Paul Parish are simple and forthright:  She wants to help people become better Christians and to become fully involved members of this worshipping community.   Alberto adds that he is committed to the idea that we are one Church, not two or three divided by cultures.  We need to continue with the best our culture can give, he says, so we can become a great, colorful Church where only our God is the dominant theme.
