Tom and Barbara Marsden have been parishioners here at St. Peter and St. Paul for nearly ten years and in that time have generously given of their time and talent for the sake of the parish and for the community at large. Tom is currently in his fourth year as a 5th grade catechist in our parish’s Religious Education Program and has served for two years as a member of the church’s Building Committee. For the past five years, Barbara has been a leading member of our St. Vincent De Paul Society, and is currently serving as Board Treasurer. Again, for these last five years, Barbara has been the valued Financial Director for our parish pre-school. Community outreach is important to both of the Marsdens. Before becoming parishioners here at St. Peter and St. Paul, Tom and Barbara lived in Orange County where Tom taught Confirmation classes, was a Cub Scout and Webelos leader, and where he assisted as an Explorer Scout Leader at a State psychiatric hospital. Barbara has held many positions on PTA boards, has been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and for two years was a volunteer at Children’s Hospital Orange County. Tom and Barbara have been married for 44 years, have three children and six grandchildren. They credit their involvement in parish life with having experienced everyone’s welcoming attitude when they first moved here, and they urge families to get similarly involved. “The greater the involvement of parishioners,” they say, “the more St. Peter and St. Paul will feel like family.”
