Tom and Vivian Imbruglia are definitely not statisticians.  They’ve participated in so many ministries and activities here at the parish that they can’t seem to remember how long they’ve been involved in most of them.  In providing us with information for this presentation, phrases like “I think,” and “a few years” and “taking some time off in the middle of things” are commonly used.  So here are just some of the things the Imbruglias have done at St. Peter and St. Paul for, in their words, “a few years.”  They’ve both taught Confirmation classes; Vivian has been a Eucharistic Minister and for a long time worked in the Art and Environment Ministry here; Tom has been a Lector, a member of the Pastoral Council, and ran a church basketball league – all of them, they think, for a few years, or maybe about five years, or ten years, or even eleven and twelve years.  They do know, though, exactly how many children they have: three – Nathaniel, Grace and Emily.  When not busy with parish life, Tom enjoys hiking, golf, tennis, and attending sporting events.  Vivian, on the other hand, makes things at home – from icons to ceramics – and tends to exactly 140 rose bushes.  Her hope for the parish concerns our young parishioners – that our programs continue to feed them and grow them so that they know Christ.   Tom’s greatest hope is that the great numbers who attend Mass here every week purely out of obligation, genuinely discover their faith so they might know it, understand it, and be moved by it.
