The Children’s Faith Formation Ministry

The Children’s Faith Formation Ministry provides an opportunity for us to share our love of the Catholic Faith with the children of our parish community. We are a welcoming community of believers eager to share our faith and embrace new people. It is our privilege and our pleasure to develop a partnership with the children and parents in the formation of their faith. It is our goal to provide a welcoming and stimulating educational environment for our community.

Our Ministry provides for Sacramental preparation of children from grades 1 – 5 who attend the public school system. Children should be in first grade to begin, but may begin in any grade. We have a three year preparation program which includes the celebration of First Reconciliation and then receiving First Holy Communion. We use the “Be My Disciples” program from Our Sunday Visitor as our educational resource. It has proven to be an effective tool in teaching our children about Jesus Christ, Our Savior and perfect model of the Christian life. We offer all classes twice per day, three days per week. Our class size will maximize at twenty students.

Understanding that parents are the first and foremost catechists of their children, it is our mission to support families as they communicate their love for Christ and His Church. We ask them to prayerfully consider volunteering as teachers or teachers aides. We offer monthly parent information meetings, in our effort to partner with them in the formation of their Children’s Faith. We encourage them to share in the faith journey of their children by attending weekly Mass, practicing a consistent prayer life in the home and participating in special celebrations along with parish events. We provide them with a variety of resources during our meetings to help and support them in their active participation of the children’s faith formation. We serve all registered parishioners in our Church community.

Registration forms for the 2017-2018 year are available here and can be dropped off at the Religious Education Office throughout the week.
