Mike & Karen Hein

Mike and Karen married shortly out of high school and then Mike served 3 years in the Army. They have 4 children – 1 daughter and 3 sons – and 4 grandchildren. They have been married for 40 years. Karen is our parish business manager and Mike has been in logistics management for over 30 years, and is semi-retired. They lived in several southern California locations and came to St. Peter & St. Paul 5 years ago.

Throughout their adult lives, Mike and Karen have been very active in different ministries in all of the parishes that they attended, and were active in their children’s school. Karen is a graduate of the diocese’s Straling Leadership Institute, served on the St. Joseph School Board and on St. Joseph’s Pastoral Council, taught RCIA, was the Coordinator of Children of the Sacred Heart Prayer Group, and was a Eucharist Minister. Together they coordinated and participated in Eucharistic Adoration. They also coached AYSO soccer.

Since becoming members of St. Peter & St. Paul, both Karen and Mike coordinate the Ministry of Extra-ordinary Eucharistic Ministers and Eucharistic Adoration. Mike is a lector and both serve as Eucharistic Ministers and in Eucharistic Adoration. Both volunteer monthly at Mary’s Mercy Center, and for the last 4 years, Mike has helped to coordinate the purchasing, distribution and delivery of bicycles for the Mary’s Mercy Center’s Christmas Bike Drive.
